The other day we celebrated William Shatner’s B-Day with a trip to Haddonfield and spent some time with Michael Myers and the Halloween franchise. Well – those of you who know me know that I have always been a Spock guy so I couldn’t possibly pass up Leonard Nimoy’s birthday without doing something – it just wouldn’t be right. The only thing I could think of to correlate Spock Nimoy to the horror genre would be the ’78 version of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” which I haven’t seen in twenty years or “Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country” because it was a horror to the franchise. So, what I decided to go with here is anti-logic: Spock would not like a movie that made no sense, so he might think it to be “horrible”, so: what better way to celebrate Nimoy’s birthday than with a revist to the illogical, beautiful, hilarious, bloody RUBBER.
This movie is fucking awesome. I know it’s not going to appeal to many people, but if you watch it with the right expectations – or maybe if your sensabilities are a bit – er – “off” like mine – you should probably love it. Here’s another link to it – RUBBER and no, it’s not about a condom. Enjoy! LLAP.
