HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT what the fuck did I just watch??? I need to go watch something funny and cleanse the palette….

*returns 24 minutes later after watching an episode of Three’s Company*
This was something else. GOD DAMN this was gory. Talk about realistic gore effects. Shit! The story was OK: “A woman accidentally (?) pushes her friend off of the roof of her apartment building. Riddled with guilt she descends into a a life of sex and drugs and deranged madness” (or something like that). But the execution is excellent. From the directing and acting to the sets and blood effects – this was pretty great. Some of the dialogue and some of the activity that takes place towards the end may be a little silly or too over the top, but it’s AMERICAN PSYCHO silly and over the top and didn’t bother me at all. I thought the lead actress was fucking amazing (and hot) and watching her go from shy office worker to batshit insane was fun. I would totally see this again, but if you want to take a chance, it’s a gory fucker! Oh – and the very, very last shot – FUCKING GREAT!
So cute Alyce and cute Carroll are besties with allusions that Alyce is all Single White Female about Carroll. One night they head to a party and Carroll figures out her old man is cheating on her with some skank. So Alyce and Carroll go score some E from this gross looking Mulatto fellow, go up on the roof and the person the is not Alyce falls to her death. Or does she? I don’t know if it’s just because I am afraid of heights these days or what, but that scene on the roof, to me, was very well done and very tense. It had me gritting my teeth but then again, these days, people looking over cliffs and off the tops of buildings in movies really gives me the willies.

This is Alyce, smearing the blood of her lover on herself. P.S. Her lover calls himself The Curtain Rod.
I guess we would call that the “The First Third” because the next sequence of events involve her seeing her dead friend’s ghost and subsequently giving the gross Mulatto The Sex for drugs. Stronger and stronger the drugs we go – waking up and stepping in puke – losing her job etc, until she finally bottoms out and sobers up.
The third act finds her atoning for her sins. Wait. No. That’s not right. The third act finds her murdering everyone and gruesomely chopping up their bodies. I’m talking some serious gore effects here. Bravo to that team! All in all I think this is the whole package although it might get a little too much around the end but I really liked it. If you’ve seen this, you’ll get this: “WHAT??” and that’s how I’ll end it : )
Talk about a hand job!!
On second thought, don’t.

Nick – I am currently watching an Irish movie about an alien invasion. Here’s the summary from IMDB: “When an island off the coast of Ireland is invaded by bloodsucking aliens, the heroes discover that getting drunk is the only way to survive.”
It’s awesome.

I watched this a couple nights ago and I didn’t care for it much at first, but it got better as it went along , and that third act was pretty funny. When she borrowed the saw “What do you need to use it for?” and the landlord “People are complaining about the noise in here!” I liked her replies. LOL. The closing frame was pretty funny. It definitely resonated the “May” movie, but I liked “May” better. But this one was decent. I would recommend to those who like off-beat horror. Good review!! 🙂
You may want to hang a “Spoilers” sign above those last couple paragraphs, though. lol.

I agree – I liked May better too.
I’m thinking about putting one of those signs on the side of the page that reads “There may be spoilers in here, sorry”

Okay, cool…BUT if there is a movie you feel strongly about and are trying to recommend for your readers to watch you should hold off on spoilers, so not to give anything away. B/c I want to watch some of your recommendations and go in cold, not knowing much…
I’m getting to “Mutants” soon, and will drop a comment on your entry.

I think the ending was just a fun way to show that she’s gone completely insane and lost it. When she’s dragging those bodies in and sees the cops and she just says “WHAT??” like this would be completely normal behavior.
Thanks for reading : )
