DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS DEAD (2014) 100 MINUTES OF FUCKING AWESOME!!

DS2a

I am absolutely going to gush over this movie because I absolutely LOVED it from the start to the finish. This thing is incredibly bloody, full of intestines and brains, no one is safe including moms with strollers, children, the elderly (etc), its fucking shot beautifully, the score is fucking fantastic and this thing is god damn, mother fucking hilarious!! I LOVED THIS MOVIE!! I loved it so much I watched on a Friday and then again on Saturday. And both times I felt like a horny teenager, wanting more and more. I think, if you’ve seen the first one, you probably like it – but I don’t think too many people have seen it. You don’t need to see the first one, I believe, as required viewing to see this, but the first one is pretty good. This thing was fucking EPIC and I think the only thing that MIGHT have been sketchy was the post credits scene. I appreciate it and get the humor (and the set up for a third movie), but – it doesn’t make sense.

Dear Tommy Wirkola, please make nothing but these movies from here on out.

THX,

Love Eric

Taking up directly after the end of the first movie, poor, bloody, arm-severed Martin realizes he still has some of the Nazi’s gold in that coin, there.  Lip-less Herzog, the leader of the Nazi Zombie battalion wants it back and immediately they start attacking again. Martin manages to get rid of the coin but Herzog is stuck in the driver’s side window as they barrel down the snow covered highway. Eventually, he smashes the Son of Satan into an oncoming semi and goes over a cliff, with the zombie’s own arm in the passenger seat. Luckily, he wakes up in the hospital, alive, but, unluckily, the doctors have attached Herzog’s arm to Martin’s stump so now he has Zombie blood in him. And it wants to MURDER, KILL and DESTROY!!!DS2d

And, like I said, NO ONE is safe. Kids, babies, the elderly who just want to get some Head, people shitting (plop plop plop), the handicapped, you name it, and it’s all fucking incredibly awesome. Also – to me – “Sidekick Zombie” is one of the greatest characters I’ve seen in years. “If only there was ONE way we could get this car out of the mud…” HAHAHAHAH!!DS2c

When they first introduced the Zombie Squad, thought “I don’t know about this” but, yep, I fucking loved them! I loved the reactions they kept giving the Star Wars chick when she’d quote the movie. What great directing! I also can’t say enough about the Practical Effects and the make-up. Quality production!!DS2e

The scene right after this still is absolutely hysterical and I cracked up later, when everyone is reunited and the only thing this guy says is “Someone took my jacket”. DS2f

So yeah, I absolutely loved this movie and, after everything we’ve seen and been through, the end is absolutely LEGENDARY. I know it’s lame for an author to say that “I wish I had written that book” or something, but I wish I had been involved with the making of that ending. It is ABSOLUTELY an IPC Classic. I’m going to watch this movie a LOT in my life. So really, if you’re interested, you don’t need to see the first one since they give a short recap at the beginning, but the first one is fun too, although it was probably made with very little money. This movie is The Tits!!

This is probably not my best write-up ever since I kind of wrote it in a hurry and didn’t let it germinate for a few weeks so – go check out a great piece of writing on this from our man Ryan HERE.

Go see this! don’t delay!

  2. Thanks for the shout out, man! I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did; it’s one of those movie that you just know is going to go down as a classic. The end of this movie is the best thing I’ve seen from a horror film this year.

      Vic –

      1) You need to stop anything you’re doing, including work and watch this. And then watch it again. One of the best endings ever.

      2) I’ve seen the first Cold Prey and LOOOOOOOOOOOVED it. #2 has NEVER been found here… I’ve read that it’s awesome!

      3) Thanks for reading here the other day! I’ve been off work and lazy so I’m just now getting back online….

I’ll let you know once I get around to watching the movie bro!

I did also love the first Cold Prey. I’ll try and hunt for the sequels.

It was cool catching up on your posts. I have been on hiatus for a while since I just bought and moved into a new house. Things are settling down now, so I have more time to re-connect with everyone.

I want to get banned from the IPC…THIS MOVIE SUCKED!!!

    LOL. j/k. 🙂

I was cracking up during the elderly woman in the wheel chair. Was so messed up!! lol.

And Greg’s scenes were hilarious, as well. lol. They needed to bring him back!

The ending was so silly!!! LOL. What’s funny is that concept made you nearly vomit when watching “Contracted” but here you found it “legendary”! lol.

This movie is a good blend of horror and comedy; the lead zombie, our main villain, was very well done. He looked the part. The wardrobe was top notch. He looked as good as any of the villains in the big budget blockbusters, and actually better than many. Prosthetics is the way to go over CGI! This movie confirms that again. I wish the crew who did this movie did the first “Spider Man” film and made William Dafoe’s Goblin through prosthetics instead of that corny metal mask.

So, the post-credits scene didn’t make sense to you? BUT EVERYTHING ELSE DID? That’s where you draw the line? LOL. 🙂
