I did one of these once for that Woman in Black 2 movie and that one I didn’t finish because I wasn’t particularly interested in it. This one I didn’t get to finish because my three hour flight turned into a two hour job for some reason – I guess we got a strong tailwind up our asses or something – but my plane landed and by the time I got to the hotel I was way too fucking tired to finish it so my rental expired and I didn’t feel like spending another five bucks just to watch the last thirty minutes of it. It’s not that I didn’t like it – I actually did – I just didn’t feel like it was worth it for thirty minutes. Instead I watched something called “Monday at 11:01 AM” and… well… i’ll try and get to that soon.
No one ever goes back and reads the old shit but one time I posted about the first two movies HERE. On that post I groused a lot about this or that but, in the end, I explained that I really wasn’t that impressed with the first one and even less happy about the sequel. Regarding the original, I thought that script was incredibly week, Eli fucking Roth cast himself in it (I HATE his “acting”) and I thought the guy who played the cop was a complete imbecile. Come to think of it, I also didn’t care for Rider Strong or the guy who went walking around with the BB gun, shooting squirrels. “Rider Strong???? I just met her!!” says no one and I hide in the closet in shame.
Anyway, someone once told me that a sequel or reboot can’t be better than the original because if the original didn’t exist there would be no sequel. I poo-pooed this idea then and I do so again because I that’s like saying that new 2016 Dodge Challenger can’t be better than that Model T your great, great granddaddy bought for 300 dollars back in the day that didn’t even have power brakes, power steering or windshield wipers. The point of that is to say that – from what I saw – I thought it was actually GOOD – better than the first one – and I want to see it, but i’ll probably wait until it’s out on cable or somethin’.
For real, I liked the cast and the characters and, while the story is the same, for some reason it seemed more believable and – I can’t state highly enough –> no Eli Roth. When I was looking at IMDB today to get the names for the tags to this post, I noticed that someone wrote on the message board how this movie “fucked up the perfection of the original by casting a female as Deputy Winston”. Passion!! Like I mentioned earlier, I thought the actor who played Deputy Winston the first time totally sucked it and I liked the actress who did it this time around – I thought she was pretty good. Of course, I did only see her once so she could have fucked it up later but… I also liked the blond this time around:
I guess, overall I would say that this is an improvement over the first three (you can see my thoughts on the third HERE if you felt like it) but, again, I didn’t finish the thing. Has anyone else seen it? Did it peter out to the end?? Should I finish it?? Did anyone Rider Strong??? WHAT???
I enjoyed this one. I don’t know if I would ever watch it again, or if I would say it was worth the money for the last 30 minutes or so, but it was good. Not great or excellent or what have you – just good.

I just didn’t see the need for a reboot, or whatever it is they want to call this, of a film that is not that old in the first place.

What? They remade this damn thing?? Screw this – I don’t think I even finished the original. But, like, this wouldn’t even exist without the original, you know… 😉

Was Rider Strong that kid in Boy Meets World? What an awesome porn name either way. And seriously when is the film industry going to STOP casting women in roles of power and responsibility. There is FAR too much of that going on! Everyone knows a woman can’t be a SHERIFF!!!!

The best thing I can say about Eli Roth’s acting is that he is a much better actor than Quentin Fuckin Tarantino.

Hmm… It must be possible for this to be better than the origina,l because that was pretty shit. But I’m confused about why it exists… I’ll probably see this at some point, although I’m not planning to seek it out and certainly won’t part with my hard earned cash to see it.
