THE WITCH (2015) FOUR BLACK PHILLIPS

thewitch1To remain as spoiler free as possible, I haven’t included any words other than to say I loved it. Also – it could come across as very slow at times but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh, and Kate Dickie spends a lot of time crying. Oh – and I loved Black Phillip! thewitch2thewitch3thewitch4thewitch5THEWITCH6

  1. Awesome mini-review! You avoided all spoilers and simply let us know what you thought. I’m glad you liked it. I wasn’t sure how you’d feel since it had some slow stretches, but I was hoping the strong execution would make-up for that. Jordan recommended this one to me, as well, as I was not planning to see it until Jordan urged me to. I liked it, but I definitely need to give it another watch w/ the captions turned on as some of the dialogue was hard to hear.

Loved it! I watched a second time on the plane and was able to make out what they were saying better – it was worth it, made it even more enjoyable!

  2. Hehe, nice post mate. I’m psyched that you dug this man, I saw it back last year and need to go catch it again before its gone from theatres. I liked the slow pace, though when i saw it I saw a lot of clock-watching

  3. Caught this myself last week. I enjoyed it for the most part. It was well shot, deliberately paced and well acted but it left me a little pissed off. I’m not overly keen on how it demonises Paganism. My good lady is a practicing pagan and films always depict it from the Christianity view of devil worshippers rather than the gentle worship of the earth that is the root of paganism. It always pisses me off, man. Anyway, it was a decent enough flick.
